Are you ready for the Wichita Chamber ExpoSure 09?

I have had the pleasure of speaking to two groups of ExpoSure exhibitors for the Wichita Chamber over the past few weeks and following the presentations it appeared that it may be helpful to review trade show graphic basics while there is still time for companies to prepare.

If you are presenting at ExpoSure, or any other show for that matter, please keep the following thoughts in mind as you prepare your graphics for your exhibit.

1. Think Billboard. You are only trying to attract attention with your graphic, not give product details. It is up to you and your sales staff to know your product and industry. Your graphics should really only convey three things; Who you are, what you do, who you serve.
2. People want to see people. Please don't cover your back-wall with several images of your previous work. One nice large photo of a person interacting with your product is all you want or need.
3. Higher is better. Break the line of sight of the show attendees. If you can afford a large overhead rotating sign, there is no better attention getter. People "buy you with their eyes" so look big and impressive.
4. Keep it simple. Keep text over graphics to a minimum and use large type with strong contrast whenever possible. Note: ALL meaningful text should be at least 42" above the ground. This goes for all signage...including banner stands.
5. The words NEW and FREE still work, so promote a special in your display if you have one.
6. Pre-show marketing works -and will increase booth traffic by up to 30%.

More notes to follow about the setup of displays next week...

Take Care
